I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 15: 13

What are you doing in your daily life to build your trust in Him?

Think about it. We do many things to show that we don’t trust God. We beef up our home security even though there may only be a rumor of crime in the neighborhood. We buy all kinds of insurance. Some take vitamins and preventative medications.

I’m not suggesting that we not do these things. If course they are wise things to do. It is always better to be safe than sorry. But do you put that kind of effort into building your trust in God? Or spend more time cultivating your fears?

If you have daily fears it is time for you to exercise and practice your trust. But how? You wonder.

Start with a daily routine or ritual that shows Him and you that God is first in your life. Yes, this really works.

Do you want peace and joy in your life? This is the path to it. It takes both our spiritual and physical selves. On the spiritual side it is prayer, worship, be still and know that He is, give your troubles to Him, and read the Bible daily. On the physical it is to care for your body through drinking water, healthy whole foods and exercise. As followers of Jesus we believe that the Holy Spirit lives in us. Your body is a temple for the Holy Spirit. Take care of it.

We must accept that we can not control everything. By taking steps to spend time focused on God and taking Care of His temple we making strides to build our trust. God will supply us with more faith resulting in peace and joy and freedom from every fear!

Then record your efforts in a journal or habit tracker app. It makes the journey even more fun and rewarding. You will quickly see your fears subsiding and your peace and joy growing. You can’t just be told to trust. It is something that is learned and can be learned.

I am fully convinced, my dear brothers and sisters, that you are full of goodness. You know these things so well you can teach each other all about them. 15 Even so, I have been bold enough to write about some of these points, knowing that all you need is this reminder.
